All, I am on my second country loop after digging out the school... I will be frank and say as nasty out here as it was the first time. Visibility is near zero in several places and I have hit 2-4' drifts in spots. Given the wind is not supposed to reduce until later today, I've made the unfortunate decision to cancel school. Stay safe and warm!

All, School will be starting at 10:00 am with staff reporting by 9:40. The roads were not great on the route tonight and are only getting worse with more snow/near zero visibility. There will be no AM preschool or breakfast. Should we need to cancel, that decision will be made by 8:00 am. Thanks. Dr. K.

The JH game in Turtle Lake has been postponed(a later date TBD) Also, no wrestling practice in Velva today. Stay safe and warm

Dr. K. here... Winter has come. That being said, I'm out checking roads with nothing significant to report at this time. However, the forecast is showing greater chances of snow paired with high winds later today throughout tomorrow. Visibility and ice building under the snow could make travel interesting. I will reassess things upon my return from driving bus this afternoon and also tomorrow morning. Should there be a need for postponement or cancellation you will be notified. Thank you!

It's beginning to feel a lot more like winter in ND! Please pay attention to the changing temperatures and weather conditions each day! Time to wear winter coats each day and begin preparing for snow gear at any time! Once we have snow on the ground, we need boots and snow pants every day for recess before school and during the day so our students stay warm and school stays clean and dry. Thank you for your help!

Congratulations to the Aggies who will now advance to Dakota Bowl 32!! Game time for the Championship will be at 9 AM on Friday, November 15. The Velva, Garrison, and Drake/Anamoose Schools will NOT be in session on Friday, November 15 due to the game. A make-up date will be decided upon later. A limited number of tickets for the Dakota Bowl will be sold at the schools. Note that tickets can be purchased at the Fargodome the day of the game for the same price as presale. Elementary fundraiser items are sorted and lining our main hallway! Please come pick them up by 4 pm or earlier today, or call the school to make arrangements. We will not send them with students. Thank you!

Our elementary school fundraiser items were delivered late yesterday afternoon. We should be able to sort them fairly quickly today. Please come pick them up at your convenience before 4 PM today if possible. Come to the main office at the elementary school to ask for them if your child sold in person. Online orders were typically delivered directly to the customer. Thank you for your support of our annual fundraising efforts, in support of our reading incentive and student council programs!

Despite extended preparation time, the meal arrived colder than expected. To ensure students still have a satisfying meal, we’re offering two options: students may choose to use a microwave available on-site, or we are working quickly to bring an alternative option, which may take additional time. Congratulations to our Bob Callies Elementary CyberMadness team (The Troops) who tied for 27th place out of 38 middle school teams earlier this week! The team members are Camden Diffely, Rickie Ouhl, Robbie Maki, and Avery Sprenger. We are proud of your efforts competing against teams of 6-8th graders, and are excited to see all you may accomplish in the future! Thank you to Ms. Blomquist for the opportunity to compete!
